Wallkers axes ‘supreme’ snack that kids loved as parents fume over axe
WALKERS has axed a "supreme" snack that was a favourite with kids leaving parents devastated.
The snack giant confirmed to fans online that the low-calorie treat described as "lovely" and a "great snack" has disappeared from supermarket shelves for good.
Customers had contacted Walkers on X (formerly Twitter) after discovering black pepper and sea salt Snack a Jacks were no longer being stocked in stores and were devastated to hear the flavour had been axed.
Writing on X one said: "Oh no! My toddler loves them."
Another fan, sharing their appreciation, for the snack said: "I love Snack a Jacks salt and pepper rice cakes, the supreme rice cake it's so good."
A third said: "Black pepper and sea salt Snack a Jacks dipped in chicken soup is THE ONE."

While the snack is no longer available to buy on supermarket websites, some stores might have some in stock, so check with your local shop and you might still be in luck.
The black pepper and sea salt flavour was added to the Snack a Jacks line in summer 2022, along with sizzlin' barbecue and sour cream and chive offerings.
The other two flavours launched that summer remain available on supermarket websites, but black pepper and sea salt has not made the cut.
The decision was taken despite positive reviews.
One happy customer said: "Makes a good low calorie snack with low fat cream cheese."
Another added: "Great taste not overpowering and lovely for lunch with some mayonnaise and sliced tomato."
The jumbo rice cakes had been sold in sharing packs priced at £2.25 for a 117g pack.
It's not unusual for Walkers to launch new flavours and to cut those that are underperforming.
In July the crisp giant confirmed that its mild cheese Wotsits were no longer sold in the UK, despite having been a hit with parents.
The same month brought the news that Walkers Stax are no longer available in the UK.
At the time a spokesperson said: "Continuously evolving our portfolio enables us to focus our efforts on making more of the flavours crisp fans love the most."
In May the crisp giant confirmed that its Sensations Streetmix range had been axed.
A spokesperson had explained that "sadly they weren’t as popular as we hoped".
How to save cash on your food shop
Money saving experts at HSBC UK have revealed their top tips to saving cash on your food shop.
1. Set a budget
Creating a budget will help to stretch your budget. Start by working out how much you spent on food over the last three months, then each month you get paid, set aside a certain amount for food.
2. Plan your meals
Make a list of your main meals for the coming week, including the ingredients you need, and stick to it. Don’t get drawn into offers for things that you don’t need. If you already have some food leftover from the week before, try to see what you can do with that first.
3. Think about when and where you shop
It's best to shop on a full stomach so you don't get tempted. Shopping less often can help you to think about what you buy and it may help you to stick to your budget.
4. Go online
Shopping online is a good and easy way to manage your budget. It can also help to track expenses, whilst also preventing impulse buys.
