BBC Breakfast faced chaos this morning as technical issues plagued a weather report, forcing Naga Munchetty to apologise to viewers.

The flagship morning show was being presented by Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt this morning when it suffered its latest blunder.

BBC weather star, Matt Taylor was ready to present the latest weather forecast, standing in for an absent Carol Kirkwood.

He went live from a 19th century house in County Durham, once owned by a local dentist, which was adorned with festive Christmas decorations.

BBC's Matt Taylor delivered the latest weather update, predicting chilly temperatures and dry spells in the UK - but things didn't go to plan.

During his report, a technical issue occurred, silencing Matt's voice for viewers.

This meant parts of the weather report were cut out.

Matt then disappeared from the screen for a few seconds before returning and continuing.

After he finished speaking, Naga was forced to apologise to the viewers for the on-air blunder.

"Apologies, the gremlins are bothering him today. Just a little one but we got most of it, we got all of it," Naga said.

Earlier this week, Charlie took a swipe at Naga, branding her 'unhelpful' during yesterday's morning's show.

A BBC Breakfast host also took a brutal swipe at Jon Kay's face - leaving Sally Nugent wincing recently.
