Despite that advantage, title holders Manchester City still remain favourites to finish first.

They still have a game in hand on Mikel Arteta’s men with games at Fulham and Tottenham followed by a home clash with West Ham.

Arsenal travel to Manchester United on Sunday and then finish the season by hosting Everton, which they hope will be the start of their title celebrations.

And the club have begun preparations accordingly for the party should they beat the Cityzens to the crown.

However, nobody is getting ahead of themselves just yet at the Emirates.

It is a requirement due to planned road closure notices plus the other operational requirements that need to be sorted in advance with the council and police.

As things stand, the preliminary plans are for the victory parade to take place on Monday 20 May.

The potential parade will begin at the Emirates Stadium at 5pm, with a bus travelling along Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Grove, St Paul’s Road, Upper Street and back to the stadium.

It will arrive back at the Emirates at 7pm, where the players will then appear on the podium above The Armoury store on Hornsey Road.

The celebrations are then scheduled to officially end at 8pm - although fans and stars would almost certainly go on to party into the night.
