I’m 52 and wrinkle free – I always get asked for my skincare secret so I’m spilling the tea, it costs $8.50 from CVS
AN age-defying woman has revealed that she uses a drugstore product to keep her skin wrinkle-free.
She began using the skincare product for anti-aging after another woman raved about how it had tightened her skin following weight loss.
Loretta Parnell (@simplyloretta) has over 8,600 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty and style advice for women over 40.
The 52-year-old took to the social media platform to share the secret behind her ageless appearance.
“I get asked a lot, 'What is my skincare routine that gives me such a smooth complexion?'” she said.
“You know what, I’m going to spill the tea.
“Before you come at me in the comments about how black don’t crack, listen.
“There may be some advantage with our genetics but on the whole, we age.
“I don’t care what race you are, we age.”
Loretta shared footage of herself that was filmed earlier that day to prove that her youthful skin wasn’t a lighting or filter trick.
She gushed about how “glowing” her skin looked after going for a run while claiming that she wasn’t wearing any makeup.
“My skin is looking good so what’s my secret,” she said.
“Would you believe it’s glycerine? Pure glycerine derived from vegetables.
“I know it’s hard to believe because that’s how I was when I first about it.
“Actually I saw a lady on TikTok talking about how she was using it to tighten her skin up after losing so much weight.
“It made me think, I wonder if it can help me because when you go through menopause your skin starts to dry and loses its elasticity.”
Loretta said using pure glycerine has been a “game changer” for her skincare routine.
She added that it isn’t uncommon to see it listed among ingredients in lotions.
“It locks in the moisture so it makes your skin feel plumper,” she said while pouring some into her hand.
“Helps remove some of those fine lines and as you can see this stuff is really thick so you don’t want to apply it straight to your skin.
“It’s best to apply when your skin is damp.”
Pure glycerine is available to buy from CVS for $8.50.
Loretta held up her bottle to reveal that “a little goes a long way” and after three months of consistent use she still had half left.
The video reached over 2.6 million views after going viral and racked up thousands of likes.
Many people took to the comment section complimenting Loretta’s appearance and were eager to try the skincare product.
“I LOVE the fact you aren’t gatekeeping - we need all the help we can get over 40,” one person wrote.
