Royal insiders blast Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘love-bombing’ of Royals as ‘bizarre’ amid Christmas invite claims

ROYAL insiders have blasted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's "love-bombing" of the Royals as "bizarre" following claims the couple hadn't been invited to Christmas at Sandringham.

Harry called Charles from his California home as the King marked his 75th birthday last week.

The Duke of Sussex also showed Charles a video of Archie and Lilibet singing Happy Birthday.

It was the first time the father and son had spoken since April - and sources claim they will now continue to "mend the family rift".

And Charles is also understood to have spoken to daughter-in-law Meghan during the transatlantic call.

Meanwhile, a friend of Harry and Meghan claimed the couple want to see more of Charles - who has never spent a Christmas with their children Archie and Lilibet.

But they claimed the couple had "not received an invite" from monarch Charles.

Now, royal experts believe that the sudden desire to build bridges was "bizarre" and amounts to "love-bombing", reports MailOnline.

The source said: "It seems as if they are really doubling down on their reconciliation strategy.

"It's so bizarre to have behaved so badly, demanded an apology and an admission of 'guilt' — to no avail, I might add — from the family and now suggest they'll just waltz back in and allow bygones to be bygones if only someone would be good enough invite them."

The insider pointed out the couple had invitations from both Queen Elizabeth and King Charles to join the family at Balmoral in the summer - but had chosen not to visit since 2018.

They added: "Which begs the question, why now? Is it something to do with the fact that some of their commercial deals, such as Spotify, have fallen around their ears and they have been subject to ridicule in the U.S. in shows such as South Park and Family Guy?

"Could it be that they have realised moaning about how awful being a member of the Royal Family is, isn't such a great strategy after all?"

Earlier this year Charles ordered Harry and Meghan to vacate Frogmore Cottage, their home in Windsor.

They now reportedly need a "formal invitation" to be able to stay with the royals on "protected property".

But sources close to the Sussexes hailed the "fruitful" call last week as a "turning point".

It comes after reports suggesting that Meghan Markle has been "keeping in touch" with King Charles.

Author Omid Scobie admitted that there is a "willingness there" from Meghan to have her children bond with their grandfather.

While Harry, 39, hasn’t seen his dad since Charles’s Coronation in May, despite being in the UK in September, the monarch is said to be keeping the door open for his “dear boy”.

Queen Camilla and Prince William are said to be more wary and have advised Charles to not engage with Harry after he blasted the Royal Family and the UK on Netflix and in Spare.

Harry and Charles reportedly have not spoken face to face since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September last year and it is known the king has previously been reluctant to take Harry’s calls following rows over Megxit and his money.

Harry’s camp actively made it known he was going to call his father ahead of the call last week.

The Sussexes have been approached for comment.
