I bought a bag in the thrift store kids’ section for just $1.50 – I saw the lock & instantly knew its real value
A THRIFT store aficionado has struck gold with her latest item found in the kid's section.
She paid just $1.50 for a bag but spotted its real value when she saw the lock.
It was a dead giveaway for something special and she could not believe her luck.
Talia Wernick (@shoobiedoboop) was stunned to find the high-end item.
She has form when it comes to finding vintage gold.
But this thrift foray blew her away.
“So this was the best $1.50 I’ve ever spent in my entire life," she said in her post.
In her hands was a teeny tiny purple leather purse, with a distinctive clasp.
The price label "$1.50" was stapled to the leather.
“The cutest little Coach mini you ever did see," she wrote.
Coach is an American luxury fashion house specializing in leather handbags, luggage, and accessories.
Brand new, their products cost hundreds of dollars.
Commenters identified Talia's find as a key fob purse.
Similar preloved items to hers are fetching upwards of $200.
It's just as well Talia knew quality when she saw it.
“I saw this little kiss lock and said, 'I know exactly what that is,'" she said.
However, the store merchandisers did not because this designer item was in the kid's section.
“In the kid’s section and it was stapled, which is atrocious," she wrote.
“It's the best $1.50 I’ve ever spent in my life," she added.
She has also found the perfect function for this thrift store star buy.
“And now it’s an AirPods case. Even though it’s worth way too much for that.”
Commenters recognized it too and added some extra information for Talia.
“That year's vintage Coach goes for insane amounts," said one person.
“It's a Coach vintage city key fob," pointed out another person.
“I have the matching purse. This dark purple color is rare when it comes to vintage Coach," added a third person.
