Primark fans gobsmacked after spotting a dress that’s pricier than SKIMS – a woman nearly ‘fell’ after seeing the tag
IF you're on the lookout for a cute dress this season, then perhaps give Primark as miss, as shoppers have been left horrified by the new prices.
According to gobsmacked fashionistas, the popular high-street retailer was selling their garments for more than posh SKIMS by Kim Kardashian.
One customer, Mel, from Manchester, was so stunned by the hefty price tag, she ''nearly fell on the floor'' and took to TikTok to inform others about the not-so-bargain deals.
After strolling around the local Primark, the 24-year-old style lover stumbled across a sleeveless maxi dress in the Rita Ora x Primark range.
The basic wardrobe staple featured a crew neck and came in black - much like the figure-hugging frocks available at SKIMS for around £80.
But after inspecting the design properly, Mel was totally gobsmacked to find out that the frock was selling for an eye-watering £100.
Perhaps wanting some explanation from the retailer, the shopper demanded answers in her video.
''Primark? £100 in Primark? Never thought I'd see the day.
''Nearly fell on the floor!! I walked past it and thought Oh, it’s nice..does that say only £10?! WAIT £100?!' '' she went on in the comments.
''Primark x Rita Ora, count your days.''
Needless to say, it wasn't just Mel who couldn't believe what she had just seen, as close to 200 people flocked to comments to share their thoughts.
One former fan of the store said: ''Primark has been a bit too bold with their prices lately.''
Another wondered if the store was, perhaps, taking part in a competition with their ''insane'' prices.
''Is this a Guinness World record for most expensive item in Primark?''
Someone else agreed, adding: ''I want Rita Ora to have worn it for that price.''
Meanwhile, critics of the store insisted the astronomical price tag wouldn't reflect the quality.
''And it’ll fall apart in like 2 weeks as well,'' thought one.
''Shein probaby has exact same one for a tenner,'' a cash-savvy fashionista advised others to check out different brands.
The collection boasts a number of grunge-meets-chic outfits, including metallic knitted jumpers and silver boots, with prices starting from as little as £6.
However, the range has also come with some controversy, as shoppers slammed the artist claiming she hadn't designed any of the garments.

Critics blasted the fast fashion retailer for “just sticking Rita Ora’s name” on old designs it was already flogging before the launch in September.
According to Primark, however, it has been curating the pieces with Hot Right Now singer Rita for nearly two years.
