I’m 53 and chose to not have kids – trolls say I’m ‘selfish’ and will be alone when I’m old, but I have no regrets
A 53-YEAR-OLD woman has explained why she doesn't regret not having kids amidst the many pressures women face to do so.
She admitted that trolls call her "selfish" and other cruel names about her decision not to be a mother, but she doesn't let it get to her.
Self-described "Menopause and Midlife advocate" Tamsen Fadal (@tamsenfadal) provides dating, life, and wellness advice online.
In an Instagram Reel, she revealed the criticism she's received for choosing not to have children and be a mom.
She invited her audience into her home as she got ready to head out.
The video began with her leaning over in front of the camera as she applied her makeup.
"This comes with every type of response you could imagine," she said in a voiceover.
She proceeded to list statements that critics have said to her such as "Who's going to take care of you when you're old?" "You're so selfish", "What do you do with your free time?" and more.
One question was "Do you regret it now that you're older?" and she simply answered "no."
She wore a black T-shirt and army green cargo pants before she started changing into a stunning bright green pantsuit.
Throughout the video, she adjusted her outfits and perfected her look.
"I love children, and I think I could have been an amazing mom, but I have no regrets at all," she admitted.
She paired it with black pointed-toe heels and posed in the completed outfit.
"My worth in this world is more than just any one title and yours is too," she said right before the video came to a close.

"There’s a huge pressure for women to stick to the timeline that society has created," she added in the video caption.
Many viewers agreed with her sentiments and shared honest opinions in the comments.
"It's more selfish to have kids with the mindset of them taking care of you when you're old I think," a viewer commented.
