Tottenham HIJACK Barcelona’s transfer for Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall in major deadline day coup
TOTTENHAM have pipped Barcelona to the signing Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall.
The midfielder, 17, had looked all set to go to Barca and was even over in the Spanish city with his family to sign for Xavi's side from Djurgarden.
But he has had a change of heart and decided to join Ange Postecoglou's North Londoners in a £8.5million deal plus add-ons.
He is set to fly over on Friday - his 18th birthday - for his medical when he will sign a five-year deal.
There was no need for Spurs to complete the deal before Thursday night's deadline because Bergvall was always going to join on July 1 ahead of next season.
It is some coup for Postecoglou, landing one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe.
