Posting on the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, Rosie O'Toole revealed she had been on the hunt for a console table for her home.

She looked at the 'rustic style console table on' four different online sites, including The Range, Studio, Robert Dyas and Debenhams.

Amazingly, despite seeming to be the exact same item it was notably cheaper on the Debenhams website.

She wrote: "Just recommending Debenhams website for being consistently cheaper - I’ve bought lots of things with renovating my house and then gifts over Christmas - Debenhams have been the cheapest every single time!

"Four different websites selling the same console table, only £20 at Debenhams!"

Meanwhile, at everyone's go-to for cheap and cheerful furniture, the console table was priced at £49 at The Range.

It was ever more expensive on Studio's website at an eye watering £99.

And it was slightly cheaper, but still not the best deal, at Robert Dyas for £35.

Other homeowners noted they'd started shopping from the Debenhams website for the same reason.

"I have recently moved house and made a few orders from Debenhams, no issues at all with delivery or returns," one commented on the post.

A second agreed: "Love Debenhams website! Been using for months. Make up too."

And other shoppers thanked Rosie for the reminder to shop around before making purchases.

"And this is why I shop around," quipped one person.

"Wow what a range in prices. Thanks for sharing, good to know," another wrote.

Meanwhile, other keen bargain hunters shared the best tips to finding the same items for less.

Many suggested reverse imaging searching item you want to buy to see if any other sites have the same item for less.

"No matter where I find the item I like I copy description and put it in google to check where else they selling and what prices, do similar thing with Amazon too.

"But instead of searching I trace back to the sellers webpage and usually find it cheaper, same with items from B&Q which are sold online but despatched by seller rather than B&Q," someone else wrote.
