TikToker Alexandra Arriaga (@alexandraarriaga) created a video about keeping her luscious locks moisturized.

Traditionally, people start with shampoo and then they condition their hair.

But if you have dry hair, Alexandra suggested starting your hair-washing routine by conditioning your ends.

She captioned her video, "Sandwich Method."

In performance reviews, the sandwich method is when you balance negative and positive feedback, per LinkedIn.

But Alexandra uses the technique differently: The conditioner is her bread and the shampoo is the meat.

"The first round of conditioner coats your ends, protecting them from the effects of shampoo," she said in her video.

You prevent your hair's natural oils from being stripped by doing this.

When it comes to the type of conditioner you use, you don't have to break the bank.

"Make sure to use an affordable conditioner for the pre-shampoo treatment," Alexandra said. "No need to waste."

Once the hair is conditioned from mid-length to the ends, don't rinse it out.

Keep the conditioner in while you shampoo the top of your head.

After the shampoo is completed, you rinse everything out.

The final step is more conditioner from mid-length to your ends.

In the comments section, Alexandra revealed there's another way to hydrate your hair, but without conditioning it twice.

"I always oil my hair before washing so is the first step necessary?" one person asked.

"Nope," the influencer answered. "If you oil your ends it will serve the same purpose."
