We live in a two-storey floating home on a lake – it’s nothing like a boat, and only costs us £2k each year
LAKESIDE properties are a hot commodity but living ON the lake is a whole other story.
One couple shared an insight into their day-to-day life in their floating home.
In their viral video, YouTubers Brandon and Sarah (@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses) showed their followers their tiny home on water.
The lake that acts as their front garden is nestled in the mountains in North Carolina, providing idyllic scenery for the homeowners.
Surrounded by the luscious forest, the couple enjoy a quiet life bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
They worked to renovate the property after upsizing from their previous floating home.

The Joneses levelled up from a small bungalow to a two-storey house, which they moved into with their dog Iko.
Sarah showed their subscribers around the interior of the home, which included a combined kitchen and living area.
It also features a small bedroom with a lofted space above it providing a second bedroom.
The slanted roof and high ceiling provides a maximum amount of natural light.
Their bedroom also included a large window, which could be used for quick access to the lake.
As well as a horse trough bath tub, the bathroom also had enough room for a washing machine.
A small deck wrapped around the floating home, allowing the couple to dock their boat.
The couple explained despite their home's "floating nature," it's not similar to a boat.
"It isn’t driven, winterised, or trailered, it’s moored in place and stays where it’s at always, we live here full time year round," they told their audience.
The Joneses revealed that mooring fees only cost them the equivalent of £2,210 each year.
They explained they had been living in the home for almost two years.
Questions the couple are always asked

- Have they ever had any snakes or crocodiles on board? Not yet!
- What about hurricanes or tornadoes? They haven't had any of those either.

"Seriously, it's like one of those movie tricks where it’s bigger on the inside than what it looks like on the outside," said another viewer.
"Wow, that is amazing!! Good for you guys, so serene and decorum is on point!!" Commented a third person.
