I’m submissive to my husband – people call me a Stepford Wife robot but I just want to take care of our home & have kids
A SELF-PROCLAIMED “submissive wife” is shooting down the haters who criticize her seemingly old-fashioned lifestyle.
When people call her a Stepford wife, she takes it as a compliment.
Estee Williams (@esteecwilliams) calls herself a “traditional wife.”
She often shares peeks into her lifestyle, which garners criticism from people who see her as a sort of anti-feminist.
In one clip, she responded to a commenter who called her a “Stepford wife robot,” referring to the iconic 2004 movie that showcased a town full of subservient wives.
Leaning into the critique, she used a voice-over from the film in which she cleaned up her home and continuously offered coffee to her guest.
“I’m happy and I’m healthy because I understand what’s important in life: my new cookbook, and my husband, and my family, and making a perfect home,” she mouthed along.
Many viewers supported her take.
“Goals,” one person wrote, with another echoing, “I love this response so much.”
In another clip, she admitted she was a “biblically submissive wife,” and revealed insights about how she thinks.
“I’m Christian and I want to be a wife,” she began.
“I want to have children and take care of my home. To me it’s important to be a submissive wife.”
Estee says she falls into the category of “Christian Tradwives,” which she explained means that she believes the “umbrella of authority has Christ at the top, followed by the husband, then the wife, and lastly children.”
She added: “Submissive wives are protected and led by their husbands.”
Many viewers were angered by her beliefs.
“This umbrella literally shows you are under your husband,” one person wrote.
“Why in God’s name would a woman choose to be submissive to a man? It’s hard enough out there,” added another.
