‘I think she loves them more than me’ daughter says as she shows off her gonk-obsessed mum’s festive collection
WITH the countdown to Christmas well and truly underway, many people will be looking to putting up their festive decorations.
But rather than reaching for the baubles or hanging stockings above the fireplace, one mum will instead be sifting through her rather extensive gonk collection.
Gonks, which are a mix of a gnome and hobgoblin, have long bushy beards and knitted hats and are based on the Nordic version of Santa Claus.
In a clip posted to TikTok (@meghanleigh0207), Meghan-Leigh Williams revealed the extent of her mum's gonk obsession - with the egg-shaped dolls with frizzy beards covering every inch of her living room floor.
Holding up the tallest gonk in her collection, which towers above her head, Meghan-Leigh's mum takes its hand and gives a wave to the camera.
She then safely unpacks the other Scandinavian novelty creatures from the protective bags they're stored in every year, before plumping up their hats ready to go on display this festive season.

Amongst those in her collection includes a gonk holding a 'ho ho ho' sign, one with a silver sequin hat and another clutching a red heart.
There appears to be at least 23 in the short clip, with the gonk obsessed mum still continuing to take some out of their packaging.
Addressing her social media followers, 21-year-old Meghan-Leigh then asks: "Think my mum has an obsession with gonks?"
She jokingly captioned the post: "I think She loves her Gonks more then me.."
The post quickly went viral, garnering an impressive 435k views and hundreds of comments from social media users.
"PLZ WHERE IS THE HUGE ONE FROM, MY MUMS ALSO OBSESSED," pleaded one.
A second asked: "Why is everyone’s mum the same? Mine is too."
A third gonk-obsessed TikTok user tagged and friend and joked: "It’s me!"
Meanwhile, a fourth admitted: "I too am rather fond of the gonk."
Another commented: "My mam has over sixty of them and brushes their beards with a hairbrush…she's happy at least."
A further chimed in: "Gonk heaven."
And one more added: "I feel your pain!"
