Stars are typically banned by MTV from appearing on otherdating shows, with clear warnings written into their contracts.

Speculation suggested Joe would have been forced to forfeit his rumoured £20k fee after it was revealed he'd arrived in South Africa for All Stars.

However, MTV broke its own rules to secure a contract that allowed him to film both shows.

Joe was an exception to the rule however, and his Celeb Ex On The Beach co-stars are kicking off that they didn't get the same treatment.

Meanwhile Love Island bosses are thrilled they've been able to secure Joe - who's likely to be a major addition to the villa because of his close friendship with Tom Clare and Casey O'Gorman.

A source told The Sun: “Joe went on MTV’s Ex On The Beach but while the other Love Island stars who appeared on that show were banned from returning for All Stars, Joe wasn’t.

"Behind the scenes a deal was worked out so if he got the call up for Love Island All Stars, he’d be allowed to do both shows.

"It’s actually caused a bit of tension with the Ex on the Beach cast as they’re jealous he’s been allowed to return.

"Everyone’s kicking themselves thinking they should have done the same deal.”

Joe appeared in the 2019 series of Love Island with the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, plus Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard.

He was originally known for his romance with Lucie Donlan, however he lasted just 16 days in the villa.

The 27-year-old arrived at the end of last night's show with twins Eve and Jess Gale.

The Sun revealed earlier today that the villa is set to be rocked as the show’s most popular star is sent packing.

An insider said: “The islanders are just getting over the PDA Awards, when a surprise recoupling is called.

“One person ends up being single and is sent home straight away.

“It came as a huge shock to everyone, the person is such a big part of the villa – there were a lot of tears.

“It’s another brilliant episode that will keep fans gripped after the recent drama.”
