Brentford ace Neal Maupay diverted his attention to darts star Luke Littler after trolling Manchester United's Scott McTominay.
Maupay posted a video of Littler and wrote: "Talk about a big fish."
Last month, the forward addressed his wind-up antics during an interview with The Times.
The Frenchman said: "People say footballers are boring, then all of a sudden a player does this and everyone goes, ‘Why, Neal?’ ‘He’s the most disliked player.’ Blah blah blah.
"For me, football is a game, it’s entertainment. I’m just having fun and, on the pitch, I’m trying to do everything to win. If I can say something that puts you off or makes you overthink and make a mistake, I’ll do it.
"People don’t realise how much tension and emotion is involved at the highest level. I think it works quite well and if I can get a reaction, great."
Giant darts star Jimmy van Schie made his opponent "look like a mole" as he towered over him during their Super Series clash.
Van Schie, 30, claimed a 4-3 victory in series seven, week six, Group A.
But it was the height disparity between the Dutchman and competitor Damian Mol that garnered much of the attention.
And the darts commentator was quick to make reference to the stars' hugely differing sizes as he joked Mol was looking as small as his animal namesake.
He said: "Talking about big, they don't get much bigger and much taller than Jimmy Van Schie do they.
"Making Damian Mol, well, look like a mole. Big size difference."
Darts sensation Luke Littler admitted a trip to Wrestlemania in Florida inspired his walk-out music.
Littler's walk-out song - 'Greenlight' by Pitbull - has been a hit among fans since he broke onto the scene at the World Darts Championship in December.
Me and my dad went to Wrestlemania 33, seven years ago now, it was in Florida, Orlando.
It was my first time being there. It was a good song, I was singing my head off as a ten years old.
I thought that if I did make it – I was playing football at the time a little bit – then that would be my walk-on.
I will have it for the time being. I haven’t thought about changing it. Gezzy Price went from Ice Ice Baby to Katie Perry. That was weird.
Kebab-loving darts ace Luke Littler wants to trademark his name — to flog gym gear.
Luke, 17, plans to stamp it on weightlifting and martial arts kit and waist trimming exercise belts.
The canny wonderkid also wants to put his moniker on footballs, golf and tennis balls, “gymnastic and sporting articles” and darts equipment.
Artificial Christmas trees and baubles are also on the list, Luke hoping to cash in on fans’ singing “Walking in a Littler Wonderland” during his World Darts Championship breakthrough.
Supporters serenaded Luke, then 16, with their take on the hit during the festive period tournament in which he lost the final to Luke Humphries, 29, but pocketed £200,000.
Luke, of Warrington, Cheshire, lodged his application to trademark his name with the Intellectual Property Office, last Thursday.
Luke Littler still finds time to play video games despite his busy schedule.
I think Luke Humphries is Fifa. He says to me, ‘never going to have time for Football Champs anymore?’ I said: ‘I know.’ But luckily Football Champs finishes on a Tuesday now.
I will be back tonight, qualifying and playing. When I am abroad and I cannot take my travel case.
But when we went to Brighton, I just take my travel Xbox. It’s a suitcase, you flip it up, it has the little screen, two controllers, you have a wireless phone.
You put your phone on it and it charges. Target got it for me.
Darts fans absolutely love Luke Humphries' cheeky post on Twitter as he clapped back at an internet troll.
Humphries sent a little dig to a hater online after he won the German Darts Grand Prix on the European Tour on Monday.
Cool Hand Luke was on fire as he breezed past Michael van Gerwen with an 8-1 win in the tournament's final.
And after his near-113 average denied Van Gerwen from winning a fourth German title, the 29-year-old hit out at a Green Machine loving fan who had been trolling him online prior to the face-off.
Taking to Twitter, Humphries posted a GIF of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry shooting a cheeky smile to the camera.
The Wantage star shared the post alongside the caption: "Good evening @Ronaldinho_RG1O - hope you're well…"
It would appear that the user took Humphries' public response pretty badly as the account in question is now suspended.
Darts' viewing figures are second only to the Premier League since Luke Littler burst onto the scene, according to Eddie Hearn.
We’re seeing our viewing figures, you know, the one thing is darts is continuously disrespected really, as a sport.
The viewing figures are second only to Premier League football and, actually, during the World Championships they were on the same level as Premier League football.
No other sport, you go and look at the viewing figures for tennis and golf on Sky vs darts.
Barry Hearn is a big fan of Luke Littler and reckons it won't be long before he gets his hands on the Sid Waddell trophy.
To win the world championships it might take him another year. I've seen players like Michael van Gerwen, at his age, do similar things - amazing things.
And it was followed by a two or three-year period where Michael van Gerwen couldn't win an argument.
I think Luke Littler is more balanced and settled than Michael was, domestically and on the stage.
But it's still an obstacle to overcome - the marathon of all sports.
Forget everything else, the darts world championships is a real mental test.
Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will face off this year.
in a bizarre question involving darts star Luke Littler, Hearn revealed his belief that the biggest fight in the sport will materialise before year's end.
Because the Darts Championship happens in December and January, I'm gonna say that Fury vs AJ happens this year.
So I'm gonna say Fury vs AJ [happens first].

Luke Humphries jokily apologised to his girlfriend because she has to find room for another trophy at their Cheshire home.
I think my girlfriend is going to be a bit annoyed as it’s another trophy going on the cabinet – sorry, Kayley! Now I feel I have acceptance from the fans.
Maybe I’m not the most exuberant on the stage but if I can throw darts like that, who cares? I’ll keep trying my best.
The crowd have been absolutely amazing for me. Something I’m not used to. I really appreciate it. I have memories of how the crowd treated me.
The way I felt from the crowd meant more than winning. Wow, I get to be a part of this. These are the levels you have to be to win nowadays. That is how crazy the game has got.
Michael has been here for 10 years consistently, I look up to him a lot. I love playing him. He shows a lot of respect. We will have many more finals.
I felt unbeatable there. I’m really proud with how I have played. It felt effortlessly at times.
Luke Humphries has hailed the crowd in Munich after winning the German Darts Grand Prix.
Cool Hand beat Michael van Gerwen 8-1 in Monday's final and was full of praise for the sell-out finals day crowd in Germany.
After the match, he said: “Winning the title is amazing, but the love I felt from the crowd meant more to me than winning.
“It's something that I'm not used to but I really appreciate it - it meant a lot.
“When I won the World Championship it was tough. I expect a lot from myself and maybe I did try too hard, but now I feel like I’ve gained an acceptance from the fans. “I’m not the most exuberant on the stage, but if I can throw darts like that, who cares?”
Littler viewing figures 'unbelievable' - Eddie Hearn
Eddie Hearn says that Luke Littler has transformed the world of darts thanks to his popularity.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored alongside his dad Barry, Hearn explained: "We’re seeing our viewing figures, you know, the one thing is darts is continuously disrespected really, as a sport.
"The viewing figures are second only to Premier League football and, actually, during the World Championships they were on the same level as Premier League football."
This prompted Morgan to exclaim: "Unbelievable."
Hearn continued: "No other sport, you go and look at the viewing figures for tennis and golf on Sky vs darts."
Darts bizarrely got a mention when Eddie Hearn was discussing the prospect of AJ vs Fury.
He was asked when he thought the fight might happen and said: "Because the Darts Championship happens in December and January, I'm gonna say that Fury vs AJ happens this year.
"So I'm gonna say Fury vs AJ [happens first]."
As well as representing Anthony Joshua, Hearn is also the supremo of the PDC, so darts and boxing go hand in hand.
