Drivers in stitches over hilarious misspelled road marking as council blasted over blunder – can you spot the error?
A ROAD marking has been misspelled in a hilarious blunder for motorists - can you spot the error?
The words have been painted onto the Teesside tarmac in Middlesborough and are important for safe driving at an intersection.
In a hilarious gaffe, council road painters have written 'keep celar' in the middle of the road, instead of 'keep clear'.
The incorrect painting can be found at the junction of Marton Road and Newlands Road.
Footage posted to social media on Thursday night showed road workers fixing the spelling error.
Smartly, the workers appeared to working to switch two letters around.

The clip shows that the workers covered up the top two bars of the 'E' to turn it into an L.
Presumably, they would then only have to turn the L into an E.
The new road markings had replaced a faded version of the same words.
Residents of Middlesborough commented on the clip saying they found the spelling mistake funny.
One said: "Omg this is brilliant. Thanks so much."
Another said: "Bet they aren’t getting a bonus."
While a third commented: "Wish they would fill the pot holes in this quickly."
The Middlesborough fiasco isn't the only road marking misspelling to have recently happened.
Earlier this year, drivers in Chelmsford were dismayed to find that the sign misspelled the city's name.
When it came to the county's third-largest city, sign writers fluffed their spelling, with the A138 carrying drivers to the fictional town of "Chelmsord".
Another gaffe in Birmingham in 2022 saw a new sign pointing drivers in the direction of the M5 and 'Brimingham'.
Another blunder saw motorists looking for the high-end Oakalls housing estate instead faced with a sign for 'Oakhalls'.
Also in 2022, two signs in the town of Thirsk in North Yorkshire had incorrect spellings, but had been so for a year.

Both signs had embarrassingly misspelled the town's names as 'Thrisk'.
Middlesborough Council has been approached for comment.
