I was on Teen Mom UK – I lived in a hostel whilst pregnant & trolls slam my parenting, but I’m hot & I don’t care

SHE was just 17 when she found out she was pregnant, and became a mother at the age of 18.

Sassi Simmonds, a content creator and construction worker who starred on Teen Mom UK, explained that her motherhood journey hasn’t always been easy.

Not only did she live in a hostel whilst pregnant, but she also experienced a lot of nasty trolling once her daughter, Zena’ya, had arrived.

The now 25-year-old, who is from Stockport and lives in Manchester, explained that as a young party girl, people were shocked to hear she was expecting a child.

While she had no clue what to expect and instead of buying bottles and nappies, Sassi admitted that she was more focused on buying designer shoes for her little girl.

Sassi told Fabulous: “I found out I was pregnant because I did a test in the Asda toilets. It came back negative but my mum said I needed to do it first thing in the morning.

“So then I did it first thing in the morning, left it on the side, rushed off to my call center job, came home and nearly choked.

“I was a party girl, a wild child. Everyone was a bit shocked. I ended up in a hostel when I was pregnant.

“I lived out of my car and all I had was a TV. Then I was in a shared hostel room. It was horrible. It was a bit traumatic, but I’m grateful for those times.

“Now I have a beautiful home and I drive a nice car. Everything fell into place and I feel like I wouldn’t have the core values today if it wasn’t for those hard times.”

Sassi explained that being a mother to a now seven-year-old has massively changed her as a person.

She added: “I didn’t know anything. The first thing I bought for Zena’ya was Timberlands and Converse. I didn’t know you had to sterilise bottles. I didn’t have a clue.

“But she’s pushed me to graft. I will graft by any means. Without a child, God knows where I’d be.”

Although Sassi is a strict mum, she’s also a self-proclaimed ‘hot mum’ too, as she shared: “There’s glam mums, tracksuit mums - why does it affect your parenting?

“I’m a hot mum obviously. I haven’t had my boobs done to keep them hidden in a roll neck.

“I don’t go smashing the gym to keep these [bum] cheeks covered. Get them out. Show them off. If you’ve got it, flaunt it.”

Sassi revealed that she felt judged by other mothers at Zena’ya’s school, as she shared: “The school run is the place I felt the most judgement. On the school run, there’s a lot of mature mothers.

“Everyone was mature, older, and when it’s non-uniform day, everyone got the memo apart from the young mum - I’m running to Asda to get Zena’ya some clothes.”

But it’s not just the school run that Sassi felt judged - she claimed that social media can often house nasty trolls too, as she explained that nasty keyboard warriors will attack her parenting style, but she won’t listen or let them get her down.

She continued: “I’m very firm in what I expect of my daughter, whether she’s six or 16.

“Some people agree with my parenting skills and some people don’t.

“I’m an amazing parent. But you can’t do good for doing good and bad for doing bad.

“I don’t pay no mind to it. Carry on typing your messages, I don’t have the time or energy for the negative comments. I don’t know what’s wrong with people.

“Someone commented under my picture saying ‘I hope social take your child off you’. People are vile.

“I get hate comments all the time. I’m a strong woman and sometimes I think people see that as mean or nasty, but I’m not mean or nasty, I’m a very nice person.

“I never let it get to me. I am so strong-minded. I stand by what I say and what I do. I don’t think the comments get to me.
