X website and app goes down

The website and phone app for Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter) appears to have gone down.

Users can still open the service, but are faced with a message reading "welcome to your timeline", instead of the usual feed of posts.

Spaces, where people can take part in voice chat debates, remains functional.

Tens of thousands of reports were filed on DownDetector.

Posts from users on their own profiles are also not showing up on the site and app.

However, the platform does appear to allow users to continue posting, despite them not showing up.

Users of X Pro, which replaced Tweetdeck, have also reported issues using the service.
