I rented a dress for the first time to wear to a wedding, I know people will hate it but I don’t care
THE growing movement for dress rentals has been notched up a gear with one woman's spectacular example.
This was her first foray into the rent-a-gown market, but she is delighted with the result.
She accepted, however, that this particular style might divide opinion and not be for everyone.
“Do we love it or hate it," she asked in her post.
But Char (@charhairchar), who has 54,000 followers, couldn't care less.
“Wedding guest dress rental," she captioned her video.
“I feel like some people will love this dress and some people will hate this dress," she said, feeling freshly hungover and wearing her dressing gown.
“I’ve rented a dress for the first time and it’s literally just arrived," she wrote.
She lit up the screen when she emerged wearing her blue, fringed number.
It was unusual but she had plans how to style it.
“I was going to wear cobalt blue satin heels," she figured.
“I love it. Despite what you’re thinking, I really need you to believe in me right now," she urged her viewers.
She was going to try and elevate the dress even more with a different hair style.
“I usually go for really big hair, but I think I’ll do a little slick back to make the dress look even bigger.”
She adored her rental dress, but admitted it wasn't for everyone: “It’s a love/hate dress for sure."
Commenters fell into both camps.
“It’s a no from me, sorry," said one person.
But this person liked it and offered a styling idea: “This dress is begging for baby pink heels.”
“Love it so beautiful on you," was the reaction of another fan.

And there was gratitude from this fan: “Thank you for doing rentals. I have four weddings this year and you’ve saved my bank account.”
