‘You’ll never scratch your car again’ reveals motor whizz over 5 ‘hidden’ functions that can all be found in your bonnet
A TIKTOKER has revealed four hidden ways the front hood of your car can be used - and you'll never scratch your motor again.
The petrol-head, who goes by Chequanxiaoqiao on the platform, shared her wealth of knowledge with her army of 940,000 followers.
She starts the video by saying: "99 per cent of drivers don't know that the front hood has six hidden functions."
She then points to it and promises: "I will tell you all today and once you learn them you will never scratch your car again."
Car in front when turning
She starts by advising motorists what they should do if a car is blocking their way as they're making a turn.
She says that when the front hood covers half of the tyre in your line of sight you can pass it by turning the steering wheel all the way.

This means you can use it as a guide to ensure you pass the car clearly.
Avoid bumping the car in front
While waiting for traffic lights there is a clever way you can judge the right separation between your vehicle and the car in front.
When the front hood just overlaps the tyres of the vehicle ahead stop the car.
This ensures that even if the car in front breaks down there's enough time to turn the steering wheel and drive away safely.
Stay a safe distance from pedestrians
Chequanxiaoqiao says when the red lights comes on stop the car when the front hood coincides with the zebra crossing in your line of sight.
This is to ensure you stay a safe distance from pedestrians and non-motorised vehicles crossing the road.
Avoid hitting road steps
Chequanxiaoqiao's next tip is for when you're turning with road steps in front of you.
She says when the front hood just covers the step no matter which direction you turn you can pass smoothly.
Moving out of a tight space
Chequanxiaoqiao's final piece of advice is for when you need to move into or out of a cramped space with other cars parked in close proximity.
She says: "When pulling over stop when the front hood doesn't exceed the upper rear of the vehicle in front.
"The distance at this time is almost 1.2 meters at this time.
"Turn the steering wheel all the way and you can drive without scratching the front of the car which is very safe.
The motorwhizz concludes by saying: "Absolutely practical car knowledge."
