Sunlounger wars in Spain restart as two tourists slammed for ‘selfish’ method to save their beds

SUNLOUNGER battles are resurfacing once again in hotel resorts - with tourists already being slammed for their rude techniques.

Brits on holiday are often seen trying to "hog" loungers on holiday, with some arriving as early as 6am to nab a spot.

With holidaymakers heading abroad once again ahead of the summer holidays, a group of tourists have already been slammed for stealing a group of loungers for their friends.

Posted by Paul Hitchcock on Facebook, who often visits Benidorm, he called out a group who stacked up multiple deckchairs, before lying down on all of them.

In the image, two tourists can be seen lying on at least three deckchairs each, piled on top of each other and covered in towels.

He said, the Olive Press reports: "Two people, five sunbeds, and they are not the only ones."

People slammed the actions of them with many calling them "selfish".

Others said it was "out of order" and that they would ask them to move.

One wrote: "This should be getting stopped, how embarrassing."

It comes just days after a two British tourists were kicked off their sunloungers by security for trying to hog them too early.

The pair were spotted trying to reserve two loungers at 8:40am, against the rules of the hotel.

The rules at the Melia hotel only allow access to the pool from 9am, with people having to queue before this.

Video showed the security guards telling them no, while pointing to his watch.

They were then escorted to the back of the queue which was already forming.

Last summer, a family were given nearly £300 in compensation after they complained they were unable to ever get a sunlounger at the hotel they were staying at.

The family, from Germany, spent more than £4k on their Greek holiday, and despite hotel rules banning sunlounger hoggers, they said this was not enforced.

One man sparked debate last summer after admitting to getting up at 5am to get the best sunlounger.

Kenzo Neilson, who was in Turkey, said on TikTok: "Good morning everybody, it is half five in the morning.

"I thought to myself, I'll get right up early this morning. I got up and got the four best spots."

In response, people said it was a "new level of sadness".
