‘World’s best burger’ finally returns to UK after nearly a DECADE of fans begging ‘this is a need, not a want’
THE 'world’s best burger' is finally back in the UK after nearly a decade of desperate fans begging for its return.
The Big Matt, Hawksmoor’s top-tier take on the Big Mac, is now available nationwide as a lunchtime special, but only for six months.
Packed with two dry-aged beef patties, double American cheese, shredded lettuce, onions, special sauce, and a homemade cheese slice, it even features a third bread layer, just like the Maccies classic.
The burger costs £19.50 and includes a side of beef-dripping fries, so it's not just any burger, it's a serious steakhouse upgrade.
The Big Matt first hit menu in 2017, going viral and later earning the title of 'World's Best Burger' in2023, as ranked by the World's Best Steak Restaurants.
Despite its cult following, it vanished from London menus in 2022, appearing only briefly in Edinburgh and Liverpool.

Manchester fans, meanwhile, haven't had a bite since 2017.
Now after years of pleading from burger lovers, the legendary stack is back on the menu nationwide, but only for six months.
Fans are already going wild on Instagram, with one writing: "This looks incredible", while another commented: "Yeah, this is a NEED, not a want."
A third overjoyed customer wrote: "It's back! Thank you so much! I love you!"
Tagging a friend, another added: "One of our best burger dates. We need to go back!"
Hawksmoor's lunchtime menu has also had a shakeup, featuring a 35-day dry-aged rump steak with Café de Paris butter (£26), roast hake with woodland mushrooms and creamed potatoes (£26), and a charcoal-roasted chicken dish (£24).
Vegans aren't left out either, with a charcoal-roasted butternut squash and mushroom dish for just £10.
