The Traitors star lands role on huge award-winning sitcom after begging creator for a part on Twitter
A STAR from The Traitors has landed a role on a huge award-winning sitcom after the creator saw her on the reality show.
Maddy Smedley shot to fame during her time on the new BBC series which aired for the first time last winter.
She featured as one of the Faithfuls who was responsible for completing challenges alongside her team.
Viewers at home grew to love her as she worked to outsmart the Traitors in the group before finally being eliminated in the penultimate episode.
Now the 30-year-old is set to join the cast of Big Boys playing new character Sally.
Five years ago, before she became known to the nation, Maddy had reached out to the sitcom writer asking for a chance to feature in the show.

At the time Jack Rooke was going through the casting process for central character Jack, who is loosely based on his own self as a teen.
Maddy wrote: "Hiya, I know I am a female but I do have funny bones. Here's my spotlight and hopefully you need a female 18-25 year old in the future."
The Big Boys creator only saw the message four years later when he tried to contact the star after she appeared in The Traitors.
He shared: "Maddy msg’d me 5 yrs ago asking about Big Boys pilot as we were casting ‘Jack’.
"Four yrs later she was incredible in The Traitors & as I went to DM her my fandom & I saw her msg!!
"So remaining faithful, we asked Maddy to audition & she sent the BEST self tape I have ever seen!!"
A delighted Maddy added that she will be in episodes two and four of the upcoming Big Boys series - joking "so don’t blink during those eps"!
She also showed off one of the outfits she will wear in the role of Sally, congratulating herself on being a "hustler" and getting the job - even if it did take a few years.
Casting director Rachel Sheridan exclaimed: "And I was just a massive fan of yours from Traitors and had no idea about these messages when I requested your tape (which was soooo funny) so really goes to show it was fate you joined the Big Boys family!!!"
