ITV has confirmed that season 2 of Casualty will reference real-world events by bringing back Lana, who has been defusing bombs in Ukraine during the ongoing war with Russia.

Some viewers slammed the finale as a "waste of time" because of the "dreadful" bomb twist that aired right at the end of the sixth instalment.

At the time, Vicky, 38, who plays protagonist Lana Washington in the show, took to Twitter to respond to the negative opinions.

One fan wrote on X/Twitter: "Ignore the rude comments You were amazing x."

Vicky definitely put the harsh critics in their place.

The actress replied: "Rude comments are like a cold chocolate brownie…disappointing, still eat it but quickly forgotten.

"Warm chocolate brownies are the best…as are warm comments!"

Many other fans replied to her tweet to praise all the hard working she put into the new series.

One said: "We all loved Trigger Point and are hoping for future series…… there are certain actors/actresses that you see their names and know it’s a must watch….. you are absolutely one of those actresses xxx."
