Strictly Come Dancing 2024 LIVE: Start time, full line-up, and contestants revealed for tonight’s show

  • Strictly clamps down on rehearsal time

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are tightening restrictions on rehearsals for both celebrities and professional dancers, reinforcing a weekly cap on practice hours.

Introduced last year to ensure a level playing field, the cap limits rehearsals to approximately 48 hours per week.

This means each pairing can train for up to eight hours a day, six days a week, once the live performances begin.

Some celeb contestants have previously complained about the gruelling schedule on the dance show.

  • Who's competing this year?

It’s that time of year again, as the sequins and glitter return for Strictly Come Dancing.

A fresh line-up of 15 celebrities will soon be waltzing across the iconic dance floor, all vying for the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

The likes of Pete WicksTasha Ghouri and Nick Knowles are set to go head to head

Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown on EastEnders, X Factor winner Shayne Ward, Olympic swimmer Tom Dean, 80s pop legend Toyah Willcox and blind comedian Chris McCausland are also in the mix

  • The return of Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing is waltzing back onto our screens, but will it be the same show that has captivated fans for two decades?

Viewers are wondering how much the reality show will change after a string of contestants came forward this year to complain about alleged bullying.

Despite a summer of controversy, the public has shown unwavering support for the show, voting it to win the NTA Award for Talent Show of the Year for the ninth consecutive year in a row.
