Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby comes to blows armed with shovel as hunt for Lauren Bolton takes twisted turn
CORONATION Street's Toyah Battersby comes to blows armed with a shovel as the hunt for Lauren Bolton takes a twisted turn.
Weatherfield has been rocked by the disappearance of the teenager, and the subsequent arrest of Roy Cropper.
Roy has wrongly been labelled the prime suspect in the case, and spoilers have revealed that he will be charged with Lauren's murder in upcoming scenes.
Roy's friends have been left horrified by the police's actions and those of Internet sleuths, who have been sniffing around the cafe and other parts of the Cobbles in a bid to get to the bottom of what happened to Lauren.
In upcoming scenes, Toyah (Georgia Taylor) is left furious when she finds two amateur sleuths digging up a section of The Red Rec as they try to find Lauren's body.
But grabbing one of the spades, Toyah goes crazy and launches at them over what they find.

Thankfully, it appears she is stopped from causing serious harm by Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), who is seen getting hold of her arm and the spade as he desperately tries to calm her down.
The pictures could be the first sign of Coronation Street embarking on its controversial new storyline involving Toyah.
It was revealed last month that the character buried a stillborn baby in a park after being raped in 2001.
Toyah had been subjected to a horrific sex attack by Phil Simmonds.
And in upcoming scenes, she finds out the land is about to be dug up, and fears her secret will be discovered.
Coronation Street viewers have reacted with fury to the storyline, calling it “repulsive”, “repellent” and “traumatic” and begging new show boss Kate Brooks to re-think the decision.
An insider revealed to The Sun: “This is an incredibly dark and ambitious storyline, and some long-time fans may decide to pick apart the holes.
“The brutal attack and the aftermath all played out on screen, so for it to now transpire that she became pregnant from the rape and suffered a stillbirth has raised quite a few eyebrows.”
Corrie fans haven't held back with their views on the storyline, with one fan writing on social media: “This Toyah story that’s been announced for #Corrie is absolutely repulsive. It’s like they’re actively trying to make this soap as repellent as possible."
Another tweeted: "Hoping the new producer axes the storyline when she arrives next month."
A third penned: "It may very well be Corrie's worst concept and possibly one of the worst concepts in soaps.
"How obsessed with trauma do you have to be to retcon a woman to have a baby with a rapist AND reveal the baby died?"
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
