In an emotional statement, Ekin revealed she had been going through her "lowest moments" since coming in for a backlash during her time in the series.

Writing on her instagram stories, she said: "I know it's unlike me to hide away, but I've been taking some time to reflect. Sometimes in our lowest moments, we learn the most important lessons about ourselves."

She went to explain that she didn't want her fans to take her skipping the finale the wrong way.

The Turkish actresses continued: "I hope you don't think I was selfish for setting boundaries and putting my own needs first last night. I'm fully aware that not everybody will understand my absence, or think it was the right decision to make, BUT it was the right decision for me.

"I chose to remove myself from a potentially uncomfortable situation that I preferred to avoid. I'm proud of myself for recognising what I need during this time, despite the hate that might come my way."

She added: "Accountability is key and when I'm ready, I will give some context around these past few weeks. Thank you to everybody who has sent kindness my way, I see you, and I appreciate you. The new chapter starts now."

Her statement concluded: "I hope everyone enjoyed watching the CBB final. A huge congratulations to David for the win. Xx."

Ekin signed the vulnerable post off with a love heart.

It comes as Ekin received a backlash during her time in the house.

Many fans took issue with the fact she refused to discuss her Love Island stint on the show, and appeared frustrated when other housemates mentioned it.

But her undoing appeared to come after she turned on best pal Louis Walsh, nominating him for eviction during face to face nominations.

Some fans felt she changed her tune towards him after she heard him being booed the previous day.

Ekin-Su was also slammed as a hypocrite when she got angry with Marisha Wallace for nominating her, refusing her kiss afterwards.

Ekin cried in the bedroom following her nomination and struggled for forgive an upset Marisha.

Meanwhile, fellow housemate Fern Britton accused Ekin of wearing a "mask" in the house, and said she found her changing behaviour "disturbing".

Big Brother then faced accusations of bullying and ITV were flooded by Ofcom complaints when Ekin-Su appeared on Late & Live following her eviction last Friday.

Some fans claimed hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best were harsh on her during the post-eviction show.

When Ekin claimed a lot of things on the show hadn't been aired, panellist Layton Williams slammed her, saying: "We're not going to blame the edit, girl."

AJ then chipped in, adding: "It's interesting as you've literally just walked out of the house, you can't have seen what's been shown and what's been said.
