Mark Wright cheated on me – there was so much heartache, says Lauren Goodger as she returns to Towie
LAUREN Goodger has opened up on her "heartache" over her ex Mark Wright as she makes a dramatic return to TOWIE.
The OG ITVBe cast member, 37, is embarking on her long-awaited comeback to the reality TV series - and is insisting she is now older and wiser.
Lauren - now a parent - met Mark, 37, when she was just 15.
The pair dated on and off for ten years before they finally split in 2012, with their rollercoaster romance depicted in some of TOWIE's most explosive scenes.
Now Lauren has opened up on the cheating scandals that marred their time together as well as her new attitude.
She told Closer Magazine: "I am a mum, I am older, and I don't drink alcohol.

"I am sensible! I am different.
"I have a mature, wise head on. I have been through a hell of a lot.
"You are seeing who I really am.
"I was 22 before. I was in a relationship - there were a lot of women having affairs with my fiance."
Mark was rumoured to have cheated on Lauren with co-star Lucy Meck while Lauren also faced allegations she was unfaithful, something she denied.
She then added: "There was a lot of heartache and drama.
"Now there is no drama."
Lauren previously compared the pair's ill-fated relationship to that of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
At the time, she told the same publication: “It’s annoying getting dragged into my ex’s life, but I understand it’s a massive part of where we started...
“It’s like other people in the public eye, like Brad and Jennifer. I get it, but it goes over my head now.”
The aftermath of their break-up saw a series of bitter blows traded between the exes.
Lauren also previously stripped to her lingerie in a saucy Instagram snap where she slagged off her exes.

Back in 2017, Mark was forced to deny claims he was dating Lauren and now-wife Michelle Keegan at the same time.
She made a series of explosive allegations against her former lover in New! Magazine today and said: "In 2012 he got me removed from Faces Nightclub.
“We were still sort of seeing each other and I think he’d just started seeing Michelle.
“Worse things happened when we were together though.”
Mark - who has always strongly denied the claims - went on to marry Our Girl star Michelle in 2015.
Meanwhile, Lauren has gone on to have two kids with ex Charles Drury.
She is proud parent to daughter Larose, aged two.
