‘The movie is ruined for me now’ moan The Holiday fans as they spot huge blunder in classic Christmas film
FANS of The Holiday have claimed the festive flick is "ruined" for them after spotting a huge blunder in the storyline.
The Christmas movie, which has a stellar cast, has fast become a favourite at this time of year following its release in 2006.
But on closer examination, eagle-eyed fans have spotted a big mistake in the plot.
The Holiday follows Iris (played by Kate Winslet) and Amanda (Cameron Diaz), who decide to swap houses and lives for Christmas.
Iris flies to LA and moves into Amanda's mansion, while Amanda heads to England to spend the festive period in Iris's little Surrey cottage.
During her time in England, Amanda falls head-over-heels for Iris' brother Graham (Jude Law).

He is a widower and has two daughters, Sophie and Olivia, who are supposed to be aged just four and six.
And this is where the problem lies. Eagle-eyed movie buffs have spotted that the girls have their very own mobile phones. To add to this, the film was released in 2006, when mobiles were even rarer among kids.
The blunder first comes to light when Graham's phone rings and Diaz's character spots 'Sophie' on the screen. It then rings for a second time and 'Olivia' flashes up.
One fan asked on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Why do Jude Law’s kids have their own cell phones in The Holiday? They’re like 4 and 5 years old, and this movie is from 2006. Movie is ruined for me now."
Another added: "When his daughters names are on his phone when they call, but they’re really young?! Do they both have their own phones?!"
A third chimed in: "Watching The Holiday for the first time. Why do Jude Law’s little kids have their own numbers? Who was looking after them when he was gallivanting with Cameron Diaz?"
And someone else said: "Who is watching Jude Law’s kids when he’s hooking up with Cameron Diaz in the first few days of The Holiday? And why do the daughters have their own cellphones?"
The Holiday was released in 2006 and was an instant box office smash.
Last year, there were rumours that the film was going to be revised with all the original cast for a sequel.
But writer-director Nancy Meyers wrote on Instagram at the time: "So many DMs about this. But it's not true."
