One-month-old baby boy dies in tragic incident as police race to scene
POLICE are investigating the sudden death of a baby boy who fell ill at a property over the weekend.
Emergency services raced to the home in Aberdeen at around 6.55am on Saturday morning after the alarm was raised.
The baby boy had taken unwell at the house, sparking an emergency response from 999 crews.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but tragically died a short time later.
The infant's death is currently being treated as unexplained by police who are investigating it.
Police have been stationed at the property since the tragic incident.
Eyewitnesses told the P&J they saw a large police presence early on Saturday morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a one-month-old baby boy having taken unwell at a property on Tollohill Square in Aberdeen around 6.55am on Saturday, 3 February, 2024.
“The baby was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.”
