We test three of the best lip crayons at all price points – one will become your daily go-to
TIKTOK will tell you the only lip product you need is lip oil, but for the product that does it all, pick a lip crayon.
With the precision of a liner and the coverage of a lipstick, here are three of the best.
Budget
Revlon ColorStay Matte Lite Crayon, £9.99 for 1.4g: This is one of the most comfortable matte lip colours I have ever tried.
Once applied, this really does feel weightless and doesn’t cause my lips to crack towards the end of the day.
The tip is the smallest of the three and comes with an in-built sharpener, which makes it easier to use as a lip liner if you want a precise outline.
For the price – and vast spectrum of shades (there are 12, spanning browns, pinks, purples, reds and oranges) – you really cannot go wrong here.

Mid-range
Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Crayon, £17 for 3.25g: The pigment of this is on par with a matte liquid lipstick, as is its staying power, and the crayon format is much easier to apply.
So if you’re wanting something that lasts and is fuss-free, look no further.
The crayon is the chunkiest of the three, which makes application slightly more difficult, while the price for such staying power is a drying formula.
So if you have chapped lips or like something more moisturising, it won’t be for you.
Luxury
Il Makiage Rave Lip Crayon, £24 for 2.5g: The newest crayon in my collection and the inspiration for this column, this glossy stick has quickly become my daily go-to.
This one is more sheer than the other two, so you don’t even need a mirror to apply it, yet it still provides enough colour to look like you have made an effort.
It feels much more like a balm than a lipstick, which is great at this time of year, and probably why this is my favourite of the three.
