‘It’s a thing of beauty’ says car-buying expert with luxury Jaguar selling for under £2k… it was once favoured by the PM
A CAR-BUYING expert has revealed the "regal" motor once used to drive around a former Prime Minister could be yours for under £2,000.
The eye-catching Jaguar XJ X308 model comes complete with a 3.2L V8 engine and can chalk up speeds of 60mph in eight seconds.
A full-size luxury saloon car, Jaguar manufactured and marketed the stalwart motor from 1997 until 2003.
Motors whizz Cars with JB took to his YouTube channel to talk up the money-saving model.
He said: "It was built with passengers in mind, hence that old school interior is a thing of beauty.
"It looks like an old regal hotel lobby in there.

"And it comes from an era where having as many buttons as possible was all the rage, hence the dashboard."
The X308 was also the car of choice for previous UK Prime Ministers.
"Because of how classy it is, it was used as the Prime Ministerial car for Tony Blair," JB added.
"And this is in line with other PMs using the X308 as their cars."
A 1999 Jaguar XJ Series 4.0 Sovereign with over 100 miles on the clock is currently up for grabs for £1,795.
It comes after one classic Jaguar covered in rust is set to sell for £80,000 despite being completely undriveable.
The 1959 XK150 Roadster was an icon of post-war Britain but is in a sorry state today.
With a top speed of 136mph and a 0-60 of 7.3 seconds in its prime, it was one of the fastest sports cars of its era.
Now, though, it has fallen into complete disrepair and doesn't even run.
The bonnet, boot and bodywork have largely rusted over and are covered in a thick layer of grime.
And the windscreen is so dirty that you can't actually see through it.
Nonetheless, it is still set to fetch around £80,000 when it is auctioned off on December 8.
