Nathan Aspinall withdraws from Players Championship hours after X-rated rant over conditions as he faces fine
DARTS star Nathan Aspinall has withdrawn from an event just hours after launching a shocking X-rated rant.
The Asp lost 8-6 to Damon Heta in the final of the 13th's Players Championship event of the year yesterday.
During his quarter-final match against Martin Lukeman, a fuming Aspinall complained about the quality of the facilities in Rosmalen, Holland.
He loudly shouted "these boards are f*****g w***" while his throw in the fourth leg of the tie went perfectly into the treble 20.
Reports suggest that Aspinall risks a fine from the Darts Regulation Authority for his remarks.
He potentially breached a rule involving "inappropriate language or disrespectful behaviour toward officials and opponents, or bringing the sport into disrepute".
Players head back to the oche in Rosmalen today for the Players Championship 14.
But Aspinall has decided to pull out at the last minute, with the reason for his decision currently unknown.
Meanwhile, Dimitri van den Bergh has withdrawn again due to illness.
The Belgian did not feature yesterday after an announcement was made about him pulling out just four minutes before he was due to play.
Scott Williams has also withdrawn from the action today.
Jimmy van Schie, Jeffrey Sparidaans and Jarno Bottenberg are the lucky trio replacing them in the first round draw.
