Lisandro Martinez stretchered off in tears after sickening injury leads to huge delay in Man Utd vs Crystal Palace clash
LISANDRO MARTINEZ was left in tears after suffering a horror injury against Crystal Palace.
The stretcher was immediately called and the incident led to a six minute delay.
Martinez appeared to injure his ankle as he challenged for the ball with Palace winger Ismaila Sarr.
As he stretched for the ball with his left foot his right caught the turf and appeared to get stuck slightly.
The Argentine was left in a heap on the ground and physios quickly rushed onto the pitch.
Martinez received lengthy treatment before being carried off on a stretcher.
It is not the first horror injury Martinez has incurred at Old Trafford.
He spent months on the treatment table in his first season at the club after breaking his metatarsal.
Soon after returning from that setback the defender picked up another freak injury after his knee bent awkwardly during a tussle with West Ham's Vladimir Coufal.
