Emmerdale star flooded with support from fans as family tragedy forces him to ‘take many months off work’
A POPULAR Emmerdale star has been flooded with support by fans after announcing his break from the show.
Reece Dinsdale took to social media to update fans after disappearing from the ITV soap.
The 64-year-old played the character of Vinny's dad Paul Ashdale and first appeared in 2020.
However, he was brutally killed off from Emmerdale but has still remained on the show.
Reece has directed a number of episodes but left the show last year.
But in a social media update he revealed he's taking time out following the death of his mother.

He told fans: “Following the death of my Ma (& moving house), at 64 I’ve taken a decision to have some time out from work. Many months in fact. I’ve never done that consciously.
“I’ve stuff lined up down the line, so I know that’s easy for me to say. However, I’m loving every bloody second of it!”
Reece promised fans he is "going nowhere" as they flooded him with support.
One said: “Good for you! I remember your smiley Mum on the front row of your show. Lovely family indeed. Enjoy your well earned break."
