‘Starstruck’ Sammy Root says VERY famous Love Island fan stopped him at Heathrow airport to talk about show
SAMMY Root has revealed a very famous Love Island fan recently stopped him at Heathrow airport to talk about the show.
Former project manager Sammy, 22, saw his world turn upside down after winning the ITV2 show this summer.
And it turns out none other than Michael Ward had been eagerly following the programme despite his incresingly busy career.
The Top Boy star, 26, may have a BAFTA to his name, as well as acting credits alongside Olivia Colman and Colin Firth.
But, just like the rest of us, he's partial to the Love Island cast's dramas, make ups and breakups.
In a new interview, 'starstruck' Sammy told The Sun of his shock when Michael approached him to chat about the show.

He said, "I've always been a big fan of Top Boy on Netflix. I was walking through Heathrow the other day and I heard someone shout my name.
"I turned around and it was Michael Ward. He came over to say hello but I was starstruck. I couldn't even get my words out. I was like, 'What's going on?!'"
The Kent-native won Love Island with Jess Harding, 23, back in July.
But just three months afterwards, she told him the relationship was over by phone, choosing not to wait for a face-to-face conversation before making the news public.
We revealed how Sammy was left "blindsided" by the move as she partied in Ibiza and refused his pleas to talk in person.
A source close to the couple said: “Sammy feels blindsided by the entire situation.
"He hasn't had any time to process Jess' decision privately and she didn't even give him the respect to speak face-to-face about her decision to end the relationship.
"Sammy was absolutely under the impression they could work things out once seeing each other in person again.
"He is completely gutted about the split.”
They beat fan favourites Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki to the £50,000 prize on July 31.
Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas came in third place, while Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble landed in fourth.
