King Charles posts touching Mother’s Day tribute to his late mum the Queen with sweet photo taken nearly 40 years ago
KING Charles has paid a touching tribute to the late Queen for Mother's Day.
His Majesty, 75, shared a touching photo of him kissing the Queen's hand at a polo match in 1985.
Along with the snap, he wrote: "Wishing all Mothers, and those who are missing their Mums today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday."
Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 years old on September 8, 2022.
The late monarch's death certificate gave her cause of death as "old age".
She died 16 months after losing her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99.
As her eldest son Charles officially became King following her death.
The touching tribute comes after Charles stepped away from frontline duties while he undergoes "pioneering" cancer treatment.
The disease was spotted as the King underwent a planned operation for an 'enlarged prostate'.
Buckingham Palace has not confirmed the type of cancer, but it is understood not to be the prostate.
The Sun's royal photographer Arthur Edwards said he believes Charles will get well soon thanks to Camilla's support.
Camilla has been praised for keeping “the show on the road” while the King receives cancer treatment.
