HAVE you ever picked up a pot of Elmlea, thinking that it's cream?

Well, one woman was left stunned after discovering that it's actually a substitute for the dairy topping.

Jade took to her TikTok page to share a video expressing her shock over the discovery, as she began: "I am deeply horrified and saddened to let you all know that this is not cream at all.

"Not even in the slightest.

"It's not even a slight bit of cream is in this!"

Instead, it's made of "buttermilk and vegetable oils", resulting in a "delicious creamy taste".

"Not cream," Jade marvelled.

"My life has been a lie!"

"It's been 32 years..." she added in the caption.

And she wasn't the only one to have been left mind blown by the discovery.

"Well every day is a school day!" one wrote.

"39 years old and only learnt this today!"

"I've never checked ! Wow I didn’t know," another admitted.

"I only found out the other day... it's still good stuff tho," a third commented.

"I found out a couple of weeks ago when I tried to make my own butter," someone else said.

"Whattttt?" another questioned.

"I was deeply horrified," someone else said.

As another wrote: "This blew my mind too.

"Now I know, you can actually see the oil floating when you use it in coffee."

However, others insisted they'd known for ages - and couldn't understand how some people didn't.

"It still shocks me that people do not know this," one wrote.

"It literally says on the front it’s not cream?" another added.

"Never thought it was real cream. It states on the front taste like cream," a third sighed.

"I’ve known this for the past 30 years,"someone else insisted.
