Traffic chaos as massive multi-car crash CLOSES part of M25 with drivers facing huge delays
DRIVERS are facing huge delays on the M25 after a multi-car crash closed part of the major motorway.
The motorway is closed anti-clockwise in Essex between J30 (Thurrock) and J29 (Upminster) due to the horror collision.
The shocking pile-up involved two cars and a van, according to AA traffic.
Images from the scene show one of the carriageways closed with fire engines and other emergency services at the scene.
The clockwise carriageway has one lane closed just after the Bell Common Tunnel, causing traffic to build in the area.
Roadworks in the area are also contributing to the congestion, after the incident occurred at around 7.45am.

Traffic can be seen backed up behind the incident into the distance with congestion all the way back through the Dartford Tunnels.
National Highways confirmed on X that traffic caught within the closure will not be allowed pass the scene.
The crash has caused traffic to congest all the way back to junction 25 at Enfield.
And the opposite carriageway is also seeing congestion halfway back to junction 28, the A12 due to onlookers.
Emergency services including Essex Police are currently attending the scene.
Drivers have been advised to take alternative routes due to long delays caused by the crash.
For those heading anti-clockwise on the M25 that means exiting the major motorway and using local roads before returning to the M25.
National Highways have advised people to allow extra journey time and plan ahead or even delay the journey after the incident occurred at around 9am.
National Highways has stated on X: "The M25 in Essex is closed anti-clockwise between J30 (Thurrock) and J29 (Upminster) due to a multi-vehicle collision.
"All emergency services including Essex Police are in attendance.
"National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management."
It comes after news that the M25 would be closed again this weekend.
National Highways shut Junction 10 on Friday, March 7, and before reopening on Monday, March 10, with diversion routes put in place.
The next set of closures are taking place between 9pm on Friday, March 21 and 6am on Monday, March 24.
The closures this weekend will impact junctions 10 and 11.
Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid disruption.
National Highways said the closures will enable them to complete the next phase of crucial bridge demolition which is scheduled to be completed next year.
There will be diversions put in place to help alleviate road traffic piling up on the motorway.
