Iconic British rock group return two years after bitter split with new line-up as they announce comeback gig

AN ICONIC Britsh rock group has announced their return along with a new lineup.

The Wildhearts are making a comeback that will leave their fans delighted.

The band, who last performed in late 2021 on the 21st Century Love Songs tour, have scheduled a one-off show next year.

They will play at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

In the revamped version of the band, frontman Ginger Wildheart is joined by former bassist Jon Poole, along with new members drummer Pontus Snibb and guitarist Ben Marsden.

Announcing the news, Ginger said: “Join me, Jon Poole, Ben Marsden and Pontus Snibb for a world exclusive show, for which I promise you the biggest production the Wildhearts have ever put on.

“We couldn’t have got this far without the loyalty and support of you, The Wildhearts community.

"Come and celebrate the new beginning with us.”

Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10 am on Friday, January 26.

In March 2022, The Wildhearts announced they were going on hiatus and all their upcoming shows were axed.

The band issued a short statement on social media that said: “We regret to announce that due to ongoing issues within the band we will be taking a hiatus.

“In light of this decision, all future shows will be cancelled.

“We apologise sincerely to our fans, friends, families and work colleagues for any inconvenience this may cause.

“We can’t thank you enough for your continued support over the years.”

The previous line-up of The Wildhearts included Ginger alongside CJ Wildheart, Ritch Battersby and Danny McCormack.

Their most recent studio album ‘21st Century Love Songs’ reached No.9 on the UK album chart when it was released in September 2021.
