ROCKSTAR Games is hard at work on the next Grand Theft Auto game, but that’s not the only series the iconic developer is in charge of.
While fans eagerly wait for the highly-anticipated GTA 6, Rockstar has been giving players plenty to do to help make the wait go by faster.
On top of frequent updates to GTA Online, the developer also released Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Nintendo Switch last year.
The cowboy action game was already available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, thanks to those consoles’ backwards compatibility with the Xbox 360 version of the game.
One platform in particular, though, was left out, much to the dismay of many fans of the classic game, which was originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
Despite the game being playable on all modern consoles, PC players were completely unable to play it, as it had never been released on PC in the past.

The new release skipped PC too, but now a strange update to the PS4 version’s store page has revealed that PC players might not have to wait much longer.
The PlayStation Store page for Red Dead Redemption was updated recently to say that the game is now on PC for the first time ever.
That specific line has since been removed from the store page, but the game’s description still offers insights into the PC version of the game, saying it has PC-specific enhancements.
It reads: “Red Dead Redemption features all of the 2023 console version upgrades plus PC specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiplier displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound.”
One of the complaints fans had about the console release of the game was that it was only running at 30fps, instead of the ideal 60fps, and it sounds like the PC release will rectify that.
The game was later updated on PS4 Pro and PS5, bringing a 60fps mode to the game in a huge free upgrade for what’s considered one of the best games ever.
Players also complained about Red Dead Redemption’s high pricing, and were furious after Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick gave insight into the pricing.
He said at the time: “That’s just what we believe is the commercially accurate price for it.”
The PC release is expected to launch at the same price, which on consoles was £40 ($50), quite a bit higher than the Xbox 360 version, which costs £25 ($29).
