He previously said in an interview: “Gladiators is all about stepping up against the odds and bringing the best version of yourself.”

And he promised to haunt all those who dared to go up against him on Gladiators.

Now, amid the 2025 series of the show, a contender has called him out for cheating during a challenge named Unleash.

Mus, who is a youth worker from East London, spoke on social media.

He said: “First and foremost, I’ve got to give a big shout out to Mark Clattenburg for doing his job correctly.

“He called out Phantom when he tried to cheat during Unleash.

Mus carried on: “See Phantom, yeah, he saw my legs move and he saw that pace and he wasn’t ready for it.

“Guy had to cut corners, but yeah that was a good result so I’ll take that.”

He also called the event itself “super nervewracking.”

Adding: “When you’re standing there and you don’t even get a countdown, the referee says ‘you will go on this first whistle,’ and he blows it.

“Anyway, as soon as I heard the whistle, my legs started moving and then my soul caught up with me.

“Then I could just feel the aura of a gladiator, and at this point I didn’t know it was Phantom who was behind me.

“I could hear everyone in the crowd screaming and I was just dashing.”

Commenting on Mus’ video online, one person wrote: “Love this guy. Confident but not cocky. I'd like to see a rematch!”

But someone else called out Mus for cheating, writing: “Mus went before the whistle in the Wall and the Eliminator. Just saying.”

To which another Gladiators fan responded: “Fair point. He cheated twice.”

Fans of the popular format will have to wait a little longer for the next episode as Gladiators will be back on Saturday 15th February.

In the meantime, the BBC will be providing live coverage of the FA Cup 2024/25 Fourth Round clash between Birmingham City and Newcastle United next Saturday.

Football fans can tune in for all the action from 5:30pm.

The reality show returned for its third installment of the second series, following its successful reboot last year.

Mus’ claims about Phantom come after Bradley and Barney Walsh introduced the first battle called The Ring as Steel and Phantom took on the first two contenders.

However, just moments in the game was halted by head referee Mark Clattenburg.

As he blew his whistle, Mark could be heard telling Steel: "Your shoe, one minute."

It then transpired the gladiator's laces needed to be tied, and Mark gladly obliged him.
