Getting rid of dog smell in your home is cheaper than you think – my 2-ingredient spray goes on everything
A DOG owner has shared her simple two-ingredient cleaning solution that gets rid of her pets' stinky smells.
She whipped up the odor eliminating spray using ingredients she had on hand.
Tabitha (@thecardenzoo) shared the cleaning recipe in a TikTok video.
She explained that the DIY helped keep her home fresh — a near-impossible task considering she owned three dogs.
Best of all, her version of a house spray was much more cost-efficient than ones you can purchase at the store.
"It's cheaper than you think!" she said.
Tabitha simply combined white distilled vinegar and hot water, letting science run its course.
"White vinegar is a natural disinfectant and kills bacteria," she explained.
After giving the solution a good shake, she transferred it to a spray bottle for ease of use.
"Spray everything they are on, the couch, dog beds, and rugs," she said.
An additional hack was adding the solution to her carpet cleaner.
As she vacuumed her rugs, she noticed that the vinegar made a huge difference on her light-colored carpet.
"Tennessee clay sucks and stains everything, look at the difference," she said.
Some of her viewers were concerned about the cleaning solution leaving an after-scent.
"Wait but does the house smell like vinegar now?" asked one concerned commenter.
"Nope, it dries and no smell," Tabitha replied.
To make sure it left the home smelling great, however, she suggested an extra tip.
"Someone else said they added essential oils to their mix! Genius!" she added.
