Invest in the right bra

When it comes to dressing a bigger bust you have to start with what lies underneath.

According to Boux Avenue 81% of women are wearing the wrong size bra.

Getting a bra that fits you is crucial as it will give you the right support and make sure your boobs stay in the correct place, stopping them from sagging.

Luckily, these days there are plenty of options to either be fitted in person or virtually.

For example, M&S fitted over 1.1 million customers last year and have over 2,500 trained bra fitters across 245 stores.

Or Bravissimo has a whole section on its website with a multitude of information, if you want to speak to someone over the phone, via live chat, go in for a fitting or just ask a question.

V-necklines for victory

Once you’re in the right bra you then need to think about your neckline.

Whilst nothing is off limits to anyone with a larger bust, some necklines are just more flattering.

A V-neckline is the obvious choice, it elongates your body creating a more defined shape and not leaving you looking top heavy.

Other necklines that also do this include sweetheart styles (think a heart shape) and a square neck.

All of these will draw attention more towards your decolletage.

Dress to impress

If you’re in the market for a dress to flatter your chest then there are certain styles of dresses that work really well with a bigger bust.

Wrap dresses are a classic style for a reason - they really do suit everyone.

Wrapping around your bust they give you an hourglass shape as well as giving your bust breathing room.

Empire line dresses are also a great option.

These usually have a lining that falls just below the bust, with the rest of the fabric skimming down your body, again giving your bust space as well as flattering the rest of your body.

Bye bulky fabrics - buy cashmere

Sadly bulky fabrics like heavy knitwear can make bigger busts look heavier than they need to be.

If you’re after knitwear then look more towards cashmere or cashmere blends depending on your budget, merino wool is also a good option for being thinner yet still keeping you warm.

Stretchy fabrics are also great at creating shape and moulding around your bust.

Shirred tops and dresses do this as well as nylon.

Wearing something stretchy also relieves the pressure of having something squash your bust which then can make something look like it is too small for you.

Clever design hacks can help

Sometimes with a bigger bust you need a helping hand to make your clothes fit you properly.

It’s good to look out for shirts with an extra button, a dress with an extra fastening or a built in bra so that you are able to wear something that is strappy and would otherwise require extra support.
