I couldn’t trust anyone in Love Island All Stars – especially the boys, says ‘Messy’ Mitch as he takes a swipe at cast

LOVE Island's 'Messy' Mitch has admitted his secret struggle on All Stars - and it wasn't seen on screen.

In his first interview since leaving the villa, Mitchel Taylor says a lack of 'bro code' made it "tough to trust anyone".

Feeling unable to confide in his co-stars, the 27-year-old bottled up his emotions - and his brief romance with Liberty Poole quickly fell apart.

"We argued more times than we kissed," says Mitch, who insists his 'messy' reputation from series ten made it impossible for him to find love.

He told The Sun: "I might not have shown it on TV, but I was very upset and stressed about the whole situation.

"The first couple of days with Lib were great, but we shouldn't have been arguing as much as we were while getting to know each other.

"I was playing the Love Island game and didn't want to just settle down with Lib yet without exploring other avenues. At the end of the day that’s what Love Island is about and why bombshells are thrown in.

"I really didn't want to hurt her, but I needed to stay true to myself."

I didn't enjoy the environment I was in because I didn't feel like I could trust anyone."

Mitch

Mitch came under fire after it was revealed he'd told his other love interest Demi Jones they were his "number one".

He then made a new record of most number of times pied in the show's Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.

Mitch left the villa with Liberty after they were voted the public's least favourite couple.

The former gas engineer has since jetted back from South Africa and faced cruel trolling.

"I think I was a lot messier in my first series and got a lot less hate," he said.

"I'm getting a lot more hate now, which is bizarre, and I don't really know why.

Liberty Poole sobs over Mitch as he calls himself a 'bad guy' before cracking onto Georgia H

"I stand by that I was transparent and honest with my actions."

Reflecting on the biggest difference between his first and second time in the villa, Mitch says: "All Stars was completely different in every single way. There was a lot more drama.

"I got on a lot with the boys, but I don't think there's any 'bro code' at all in there, in any respect.

"In my series, obviously I did 'Messy Mitch' and stuff like that, but the boys forgave me because it was unintentional.

"I didn't enjoy the environment I was in because I didn't feel like I could trust anyone.

"Other than that, I enjoyed my experience and I'm so grateful they gave me the opportunity, but I didn't know who I could even talk to about my feelings without it getting back to like Lib or anyone like that.

"I ended up thinking 'I don't think I've got any friends here'."

Mitch says he only trusted his closest co-stars Toby, Tom and Chris.

However, he denies anyone in there is a "game player" - insisting the drama comes from everyone being desperate to find love.

"They're not going back on for the screen time," says Mitch.

"They've already got that foundation on the outside. This is truly about them trying to find love.

"I don’t think the arguments were produced. I think everyone just got so heated because we're in the villa so much.

"We've not been able to go out and do challenges and get out of the environment.

"I wish I could tell you why there's so much drama and it's genuinely real. It's crazy."
