Mums are raving over a Home Bargains buy - but it will take some DIY

Jodie, known as ‘jodie_home’ on TikTok, shared a video of her clever hack, which repurposes a shoe rack for her daughter’s room.

She revealed that her creation “turned out so cute” and is ideal for storing toys while also being visually appealing.

Jodie purchased a Home Solutions Three-Tier Wooden Shoe Rack for £4.99 from Home Bargains.

The stylish fir wood rack, which is quick to assemble, is typically used for organising shoes in your porch, cupboard, or attic.

However, Jodie decided to use it for something a little different.

Sharing a video on her TikTok page, she provided a step-by-step guide on how she transformed it into toy storage.

Jodie began by screwing the wooden parts together, which appeared easy to assemble, as the components simply screwed into each other.

Next, she painted the rack green to match her child’s room.

She then purchased wooden scallops from eBay, painted them the same colour, and glued them to the top of the shelves for added decoration.

Finally, she used the customised rack to store her child’s toys, creating a functional and stylish addition that blended perfectly with the room’s décor.

Many mums rushed to the comments section of her video to share their thoughts, as they praised her for her creativity as well as how “amazing” it looks.

A second added: “This looks amazing!!

“I’ve been looking for a smaller shelf to put in our living room for toys and this looks perfect! Love the colour you picked too.”

To which Jodie agreed saying it would "bring back a toy rotation” but she explained that she has “no room” in her normal storage “so this is perfect”.
