HOLLYWOOD actor M. Emmet Walsh has died aged 88 after a stellar career starring alongside Julia Roberts and Harrison Ford
Fans are bidding farewell to the versatile character whose career spanned an impressive six decades.
Walsh passed away on Tuesday due to a cardiac arrest, according to reports.
His longtime manager Sandy Joseph revealed the beloved actor took his last breath on Tuesday at Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans Vermont.
The actor, born on March 22, 1935 in Ogdensburg, New York, featured in a many theatre plays, TV shows and films.
He was raised in rural Swanton, Vermont where he started his passion for acting.
Welsh's illustrious career kicked off with his onscreen debut in Alice’s Restaurant in 1969.
The veteran Hollywood actor has credits in over 200 films and television series.
Walsh rose to fame after portraying Harrison Ford's boss in Ridley Scott's 1982 masterpiece Blade Runner.
He was also famous for his roles in the Coen Brother's gritty thriller 1984 Blood Simple and the sci-fi horror classic Critters - where he was a corrupt local sheriff.
He also portrayed Mr Proofroc in the 2019 Daniel Craig film Knives Out.
Most recently, he was in the Western film Outlaw Posse - which starred Whoopi Goldberg.
But it wasn't just the silver screen where he left his mark.
He also graced TV fans with numerous shows - including My Best Friend's Wedding alongside Hollywood royalty Julia Roberts.
