Team GB defend Olympic eventing crown for first gold at Paris 2024

Laura Collett steered the British eventing team home to secure Team GB’s first gold of Paris 2024 alongside Ros Canter and Tom McEwen. Britain defended the title won at Tokyo 2020 with solid rides in the show-jumping final as the hosts missed out on a victory in front of a euphoric home crowd and had to settle for silver.

Britain ended the three-day competition with a combined score of 91.3 penalty points ahead of France with 103.6 and Japan with 115.8.

The gold, Britain’s fifth in the event, means they have won more Olympic titles than any other country.
