The 2p wet weather hack ‘used by mountaineers & explorers’ to keep feet bone dry & warm WITHOUT wearing ugly wellies
A MAN has shared his bizarre hack to keep your feet warm and dry during the winter months.
Dan Robinson is a London-based personal trainer and often uses his social media to share his top tips on how to keep fit.
But in one video, he revealed his exact method to get the steps in without wearing ugly wellies on rainy days.
Dressed in a navy jumper with grey jogging bottoms, he told viewers: “I’ve got a trick for ya, this is something I used to do when I used to work outside.
“It’s that time of year again and it is absolutely pissing it down, your feet are freezing but you still need to get your steps in.”
Moving indoors, he explained that it’s still possible to get your 10,000 steps in a day on an outdoor walk over a treadmill.

Taking two pairs of socks in his hands, he shared: “Now I know everybody knows this one already, two pairs of socks but you’re missing the important ingredient.
Sitting down on a cream sofa, he then shared the first step, which is to put the first pair of socks on.
He then produced a set of small 2p rubbish bins bags, which he put over the top of his socks and tucked it in to keep them secure.
“Feeling a little bit stupid right now but trust me, they keep your feet so warm and dry at the same time,” he said.
“Take the second pair of socks, now you’ve got the coziness of the first pair, the protection of the plastic and the keep-in-yness of the top pair.”
He continued: “Obviously I know what keeps it dry cause the water can’t get through the plastic, but I have no idea how it keeps the heat in…
“Some sort of thermodynamic genesis rubbish. I don’t know. But trust me, next time you go for a walk, use this method and your feet are gonna be toasty. You’re welcome, happy walking.”
TikTok user @drobinsonfitness added in the caption: “This is the trick I use to make sure I can still get my walks in when its cold and rainy!”
People were quick to comment as one person wrote: “It's called a VBL (vapour barrier liner). Used by mountaineers & explorers in extreme cold to prevent clothes and sleeping bags freezing due to sweat.”
Dan replied: “Ah so basically I’m a genius”.
Another joked: “Wellie shoes [crying with laughter emoji] you could just try them lol,” but Dan wasn’t for them as he replied: “Absolutely no way they are freezing! That’s why I needed this,” followed by a crying with laughter emoji.
While a third added: “Just buy winter waterproof shoes,” to which Dan replied: “This is better.”
